What Etsy already gives sellers for search

Updated Oct 13, 2026.

Etsy shows sellers how their listings measure up in its search, with suggested fixes, inside Shop Manager. Check it before you pay for an Etsy keyword tool.

The search visibility page

In August 2024, Etsy added a search visibility page to Shop Manager and the Etsy Seller app. It shows how your shop, your customer service and your listings do in the areas Etsy search takes into account, with recommended actions for each (Etsy).

Etsy says its search ranking counts a shop’s average review rating, message response rate and case rate from the past three months. Each listing should have several high-quality photos and a return policy. From October 1, 2024, Etsy said it would also factor US domestic shipping prices into search for US listings, leaving out some categories and items shipped from outside the US.

The page judges only your first listing photo, the one buyers see in search results. Etsy asks for at least 0.4 megapixels, recommends 2000px on the shortest side, and asks for a single photo of the item first, not a collage. Changes can take up to one day to show in search.

The title tool

In August 2025, Etsy said its search now looks at the whole listing, including the title, tags, attributes, descriptions, first photo and reviews, so “your title doesn’t need to do all the work”. It added a tool to the search visibility page for eligible listings, to help make their titles “buyer friendly and search ready” (Etsy).

Two checks before you pay for an Etsy keyword tool

  1. Work through the recommendations on your search visibility page first. They’re Etsy’s own, for your shop and listings.
  2. If you use the title tool, try its suggestions on a few listings and watch how they do before you change the rest.
