Get your review link from Google
Google’s steps, from Create a Google link or QR code to request reviews, checked Oct 7, 2026:
- Go to your Business Profile.
- Select Read Reviews, then Get more reviews.
- To copy the review link, select Copy.
Google offers its own QR code on the same screen, but as its help says, “Currently, reviews QR codes can only be generated on a computer browser, not on mobile devices.” This tool makes one on any device from the link.
From Tips to get more reviews, checked Oct 7, 2026: “Customers must be signed into a Google Account to leave a review. They can set one up with a non-Gmail email address.”
Google’s rules for asking for reviews
From the Google Maps policy Prohibited & restricted content, checked Oct 7, 2026. Google doesn’t allow businesses to:
- Offer incentives – such as payment, discounts, free goods and/or services - in exchange for posting any review or revision or removal of a negative review.
- Discourage or prohibit negative reviews, or selectively solicit positive reviews from customers
- When soliciting reviews, merchants should not require or pressure users to leave ratings or write reviews while on the premises, nor should they request that specific content be included.
This includes:
- Merchants requesting that staff solicit a certain number of reviews
- Merchants requesting that staff solicit reviews that include specific content, including content that identifies a staff member.
It does allow businesses to:
Solicit or encourage the posting of content that does represent a genuine experience, without offering incentives to do so or attempting to influence the rating or the contents of the review.
Where to use it
Google’s suggestions, from Create a Google link or QR code to request reviews:
- Include it on your receipts
- Include it in thank you emails
- Add it at the end of a chat interaction
- Print and display the QR code in your store
How this tool works
- It makes the QR code in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else.
- The QR code opens exactly the link you paste, so test it with your phone before you print.
- The check looks for words that read as an incentive, a request for a particular rating, pressure, or asking for specific content. Google may catch other things, so read a “Pass” as “nothing we can see”, not a guarantee.
- Words that break a rule on their own say “Fix”. Words that depend on what they’re for, like “free”, say “Check”.
- It doesn’t build review links from a Place ID, as some tools do: Google doesn’t document that kind of link, so use the one Google gives you.
